Good To Know
Frequently asked questions.
- What is denture scanning?
- A precise 3D digital copy of your dentures, stored securely for remaking if lost or damaged.
- Why would I need it?
- A lost or broken denture can be replaced quickly from the copy, without starting again.
- Do you scan my mouth?
- No. We scan the denture itself, out of the mouth. Completely non-invasive.
- How is the scan taken?
- A clinician uses a handheld scanner. It takes minutes and your denture is handed straight back.
- How long does the appointment take?
- Most visits take around twenty minutes from start to finish.
- Will I be without my denture?
- Only for a few minutes. It is scanned in front of you and handed straight back.
- Can you scan more than one denture?
- Yes. Upper and lower can both be scanned in the same visit — we will confirm the fee when you book.
- How long is it stored?
- Securely for three years from the date of your scan.
- How accurate is the replacement?
- It is made from your exact 3D model, matching your original as closely as possible.
- Is my data safe?
- Yes. Your model is stored securely and used only to produce your replacement.
- Who can see my scan?
- Only our clinical and laboratory team, and only to produce your replacement.
- What happens after three years?
- We will contact you before your storage ends so you can choose to extend it or let it lapse.
- Can I have my scan deleted?
- Yes. Get in touch at any time and we will remove your model from storage.
- Can my scan be shared with another dentist?
- Ask us and we will arrange it. Your model is yours.
- What if I lose or break them?
- Call us — we 3D print an identical replacement and post it within five business days.
- How do I book?
- Call us or leave your details and an expert will call you back.
- How much does it cost?
- £99 for a scan and three years of storage. Replacements start from £395 per arch.
- Where do you visit?
- We come to you — at home or in your care home — across most of England and Wales.
- How soon can you come out?
- We will offer you the earliest appointment available in your area when you call.
- How do I pay?
- We confirm the fee and the payment options with you when you book. Nothing is taken up front.
- Can I book for a relative?
- Yes. Family and care home staff often arrange the visit. We just need the patient's agreement.
- Is it suitable for everyone?
- It suits most people with full or partial dentures. Unsure? Just ask when you enquire.
- Can I still use another dentist?
- Yes. A scan on file does not tie you to us for repairs.
- Do I need to be registered with you?
- No. You do not need to be an existing patient to book a scan.
- Is there an age limit?
- No. We visit adults of any age, at home or in a care home.
- Can you scan partial dentures?
- Yes. Both full and partial dentures can be scanned.
- Can you scan a damaged denture?
- Often, yes. Give us a call and we will advise whether yours can still be scanned as it is.
- What if my denture no longer fits well?
- A scan copies your denture exactly as it is today, so it is worth speaking to your dentist about the fit first.
